The UCU Social
Learning Lab
Your contribution covers vegan lunch and future editions
Location: University College Utrecht, NL, dining hall center
In collaboration with: University College Utrecht Alumni Office

Are you interested in psychology and societal conflict resolution?
Then, this weekend, organised in collaboration with the University College Utrecht Alumni Office, is meant for you. Learn to emotionally support yourself and others within a spirit of community. How do you find level ground in a social world that escalates quickly? What systemic issues and societal trauma do we run into when pursuing our careers? Through reflection exercises, meaningful dialogues, and the constellations method, you will find your best possible life path.
Do you want to learn how to deal
with social conflict and resolve it?

on creating emotional safe spaces
Reflect on your social conflict resolution skills
Through creative exercises –both individually and in groups– you will reflect on the role of social conflict in your life and career. How can we de-escalate and stop destructive polarisation? Other questions may pop up as well. These we will work with later in the program.
on working with constellations
Explore your innermost psychodynamics with constellations work
During the weekend, we will do constellations work. A constellation is a spatial representation of a question, issue, or theme. It is mapped in the room with different roles taken upon them by group members (so-called “representatives”). By mapping the field in this way, it clarifies unconscious relations and dynamics that play. These can come from our personal lives, but also from the history within our societal values.

on finding your career in a distressed world
Learn about systems change within society
This is an experimental part of the weekend. We want to research a collective group theme, one that touches us all and keeps us –at least emotionally– busy. From this group constellation we will learn about systems change, our own position, style of getting through the mess of the systemic transition phases, and (re)define our career paths so that it will be meaningful on the long-term. What will be your legacy?
